Call for Entries: Enrique Fuentes Quintana Awards 2022-2023

The Enrique Fuentes Quintana Awards aim to recognize excellent and rigorous doctoral work. To achieve this goal, the Enrique Fuentes Quintana Awards for the academic year 2022-2023 are being announced.

Requirements:

  • Candidates are required to carefully read these requirements and the list of frequently asked questions published on the Funcas website.
  • Doctoral theses that have received the “cum laude” distinction in the following fields are eligible for this award:
    • Economics, Finance, and Business
    • Political Science, Sociology, and Communication
    • Health and Life Sciences
    • Humanities
    • Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Architecture
  • Spanish Ph.D. holders, regardless of where they defended their theses, and foreign Ph.D. holders who have submitted their doctoral theses at Spanish educational or research institutions are eligible to apply.
  • The thesis must have been defended between September 1, 2022, and August 31, 2023.
  • The choice of category is solely the responsibility of the award applicants. A thesis can only compete in the category it has been registered for, and multiple submissions to different categories are not allowed.
  • Theses must be submitted in either Spanish or English. Theses in any other language will not be accepted.

Registration and Submission Deadline:

  • Registration for the award must be done exclusively through the registration form on the Funcas website and must be completed accurately. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  • The deadline for submitting applications is from September 15, 2023, until November 15, 2023, at 23:59 hours.

Award Prize:

  • The award consists of a diploma and a gross prize of five thousand euros (€5,000).
  • Applicable tax deductions will be made from the mentioned amount for tax purposes.
  • The award is singular and indivisible. Only one doctoral thesis per category will be awarded. The award may be declared void if there are no suitable candidates. Additionally, the award cannot be shared ex aequo.
