The academic community at Carlos III University of Madrid acknowledges the merit and uniqueness of doctoral theses developed within its institution by awarding the Extraordinary Doctorate Award. This recognition takes into account the quality of doctoral research work based on its scientific and technological contributions. Depending on the productivity of each doctoral program, the call for submissions is made on an annual or biennial basis, and it is open to doctors who graduated in the last academic year with a cum laude distinction.
