Aid for University Teacher Training – FPU 2023

The Ministry of Universities announces the availability of FPU doctoral scholarships.

Prospective candidates, both nationally and internationally, are eligible if they hold an academic record (bachelor’s and/or master’s degree) with a grade equal to or higher than ~80%.

Description:

These grants are intended to fund pre-doctoral contracts for the completion of doctoral theses at Spanish Universities.

These are aids intended for research training in doctoral programs to The scholarships aim to support research training in doctoral programs, leading to the attainment of a Doctorate degree and the development of essential university teaching skills in any scientific field. The ultimate goal is to facilitate the integration of recipients into the Spanish higher education system and scientific research community.

Deadline for submission of applications:

Applications will be accepted from January 17, 2024, to February 15, 2024.

These grants cover the formalization of pre-doctoral contracts in affiliated centers, with a standard duration of four years. However, individuals with disabilities may be eligible for a six-year duration, as specified in Article 21 c) of Law 14/2011, dated June 1, on Science, Technology, and Innovation.

Applicants who have already earned a doctorate before the start of the last year of FPU aid can access a one-year Postdoctoral Orientation Period (POP).

Moreover, the grant recipients may use the funds to undertake a significant and beneficial stay in foreign (or exceptionally Spanish) research centers. This experience should contribute to achieving the training objectives of the FPU aid and enhance predoctoral training, as well as postdoctoral specialization.

Incompatibilities:

• Individuals who have previously received a grant for more than 24 months at the time of applying will not be eligible.
• Furthermore, those who have benefited from FPU grants in previous calls are not eligible to apply for this particular call.
