We are pleased to announce the contributions of five of our students (EP2 Research Group) to IEPC 2024 were awarded a Best Paper distinction in their respective sessions! Their work ranged from simulating electrodeless thrusters’ functions and characterizing them experimentally, to designing and testing a hollow cathode.
Besides this distinction, they will also be published in a special issue of the Journal of Electric Propulsion, edited by Stéphane Mazouffre and Laurent Garrigues. The selected papers are:
- An Implicit Energy- and Charge- conserving Electromagnetic PIC algorithm for Paraxial Magnetic Nozzles
- Pedro Jiménez, M. Merino & L. Chacón
- Hybrid Fluid-PIC Simulations of the Plume Expansion in a Magnetic Arch
- Matteo Guaita, M. Merino & E.A. Ahedo
- Simulation of the discharge and microwave-plasma coupling in a waveguide ECR thruster
- Marco Inchingolo, P. Jimenez, Jiewei Zhou (周杰伟), M. Merino & J. Navarro
- Determining ion velocity in the interconnected plume of a cluster of two ECRTs using 2D LIF
- Célian Boyé, J. Navarro, M. Merino, A. Lecervoisier & S. Mazzoufre
- Towards self-consistent simulation of radial effects on an axial PIC model of the Hall discharge
- Guillermo Cuerva, E. Bello, A. Marín & E. A. Ahedo
