The PhD Program in Aerospace Engineering is proud to highlight the international contributions of our research faculty. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Óscar Flores, a prominent researcher within our Aerospace Engineering group, will be lecturing at the upcoming CISM Advanced Course in Udine, Italy.
Key Details About the Course:
This first-edition course explores the frontier where unsteady aerodynamics meets biological design. For our PhD students and supervisors, this represents a unique opportunity to delve into the modeling of how vortices interact with flexible structures and how these biological strategies can be translated into engineering innovation.
- Dates: April 20-24, 2026.
- Location: Udine, Italy (CISM Headquarters) + Online modality available.
- Key Topics: Unsteady aerodynamics, coupled flow-structure systems, robotics, and biomechanics.
- Lecturers: A distinguished panel from University of Birmingham, Politecnico di Bari, UC3M, TU Wien, CNRS/ESPCI Paris and EPFL.
Why Participate?
This course is specifically designed for graduate students and early-stage researchers. Beyond the technical sessions, the program features poster sessions designed to spark cross-disciplinary communication and provide a platform for our PhD students to showcase their current research to an international audience.
Applications are now open. Additionally, CISM offers a limited number of subsidized accommodations for on-site participants at a rate of 35 euros per night.
Full details and the application process are available at the CISM Course Webpage.
