Applications are now open for the Air France-KLM PhD Thesis Award. By recognizing outstanding doctoral research, the organization aims to strengthen the connections between academia and industry while fostering research that addresses key technological, environmental, economic, and societal changes shaping passenger transport, air freight, and aircraft maintenance.
Prize details:
The awardee will receive a cash prize of 2,000 euros and three round-trip tickets for travel on Air France-KLM Group airlines.
Who can apply?
Researchers who have successfully defended their PhD thesis between January 1, 2023 and December 15, 2026 at a higher education and research institution within the European Union are eligible to apply.
Additionally, the submitted work, written either in French or English, should be related to the decarbonization of the aviation industry, sustainable aviation fuel, technologies and materials contributing to the sector’s environmental transition, non-CO2 climate effects, or issues of adaptation or resilience to climate change.
How to apply?
To apply, candidates must submit the following application package:
- An English summary of the thesis, no longer than four pages, written for a non-specialist audience and explaining in particular how the research addresses one or more of the challenges identified in the framework note.
- A curriculum vitae.
- A copy of a proof of identity document.
- The thesis, either in PDF format or in the form of a link allowing it to be consulted online.
- The thesis defense report.
