Thesis Talk is UC3M’s annual challenge that asks doctoral students to explain their thesis to a non-specialist audience in under four minutes with just one static slide. Admission is free until capacity is reached, and the session will be streamed live on YouTube (Thesis Talk 2026).

After reviewing all the submissions, the jury has selected 19 presentations for the on-campus showdown, including the PhD in Aerospace Engineering student Nikolaos Ziakos with a talk entitled “How to speedrun aircraft design“.

Awards
The jury will honour the three highest-scoring talks with cash prizes of €900, €600 and €300.
